I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually happening.
